Puipui ma fa'asao le si'osi'omaga • Preserve and protect the environment

Educational Outreach Program
The core success of the agency's outreach initiative relies on the support of the diverse programs within AS-EPA. The AS-EPA's primary objective is educating before regulating, which we achieve by assuring that our community is fully informed about the impact of our environmental actions and their effects on the quality of life that our environment offers. American Samoa is situated in the heart of the Pacific Ocean and is linked by the sea comprised of landmasses and volcanic formations that embody both ancient and contemporary aspects of nature. It remains one of our priorities to ensure protection and preservation of these natural resources.

Community Outreach
Our education team is committed to providing outreach opportunities to the general public in the form of meetings, workshops, presentations, and cleanup initiatives. As a vital component of our work to ensure community resilience, we conduct outreach for village councils, religious denominations, and ethnic communities on environmental topics.
Televised Program
To ensure that the community is fully informed about the services we offer, we collaborate with the local Office of Public Information to disseminate this essential information. Although certain villages and communities may find it challenging to arrange for in-person outreach, televised segments serve as a highly convenient alternative for many.

Radio Outreach
AS-EPA strongly urges the public to listen to their local radio stations, including V103, 93KHJ, 104.7, and KSBS FM 92, which broadcast our weekly radio programs. Our collaboration with local radio networks to share essential information reflects our dedication to engaging the community. Our radio programs include discussions on collaborating with the community and emphasize the importance of reporting any violations or harm to the environment.
School Outreach
Educating the younger generation is a fundamental priority for the AS-EPA and its initiatives. Our efforts are driven by a clear purpose: to guarantee a safe and healthy environment for everyone, including future generations. The education division aims to enhance collaboration with local schools by offering outreach opportunities that allow students to understand environmental issues and the various activities that are detrimental to it.
