AS-EPA STATUTES
The American Samoa Code Annotated (ASCA) provides statutory authority to the AS-EPA to carry out its responsibilities. Statutes under the ASCA are approved by the American Samoa Fono Faitulafono (legislature). AS-EPA's authority to enforce the following statutes derives directly from the Fono Faitulafono:

AS-EPA RULES & REGULATIONS
The Territory's regulations (also known as "rules") are found under the American Samoa Administrative Code (ASAC). Regulations are adopted through an administrative process and usually do not require the Fono Faitulafono's approval. In its regulatory capacity, the AS-EPA enforces the following regulations to ensure compliance with environmental laws in the protection and preservation of natural resources:
