Our team recently traveled to Manu’a for a field survey project focused on protecting the islands’ water and land.
Piggery mapping: We visited piggeries across Manu’a to update our records and map each site with GIS. This helps us track possible sources of waste runoff that could affect groundwater.
Drinking water checks: We teamed up with ASPA to inspect drinking water wells and storage tanks, making sure families have safe, clean water.
Contaminated site: We also checked a site where used oil drums had been stored illegally, so we can assess the contamination and plan the next steps for cleanup.
Clean water starts with protecting our land. Fa’afetai tele lava to ASPA and the Manu’a communities for welcoming us and working with us!
