Pesticide

American Samoa Code Annotated A.S.C.A. 24.1202 (16) defines  pesticide as any substance or mixture of substances intended for preventing, destroying, repelling, or mitigating any pest; and any substance or mixture of substances intended for use a plant regulator, defoliant or desiccant.

The role of the Pesticide Branch is to enforce the pesticide regulations regarding importation, distribution, storage, sale, usage, and disposal of pesticides.

Pesticides Applicator Training (PAT)

Land Grant's Agriculture, Community, and Natural Resources (ACNR) Division conducts apllicator training on pesticide use. In partnership with the local community college, the program facilitates applicator training courses and exam preparation. Certified individuals are then licensed by the AS-EPA, ensuring that only qualified professionals apply pesticides in the territory.

NOTICE OF ARRIVAL (NOA) 

The Pesticides Program is committed to ensuring the safe and effective use of
pesticides within the territory. The program regulates the importation of pesticide products and devices in the territory through the Notice of Intent (NOI) and Notice of Arrival (NOA) process.
